Three layers, three jobs
The natal chart records the birth structure. A decade cycle adds a stem and branch for a longer phase, and the annual year adds another pair. Later layers can activate or rearrange existing relations, but they do not create a specific event independently of circumstances.
Read the decade as a stage
First identify which phases and Ten-God relations the decade brings forward. Then check combinations, clashes, and support or control with the natal chart. This can describe recurring tasks and tensions, not a fixed inventory of gains and losses.
The annual year is a lens
An annual layer often makes an existing theme easier to notice. The same relation may appear through work, family, study, or emotional regulation. Age, choices, and environment decide the domain, so ask which older thread has become louder.
Check against a timeline
Write down the past three to five years of actual changes, then compare them with the chart layers. A useful reading can explain several phases while leaving room for mismatches.
- What changed around a cycle boundary
- Which themes repeated
- What your choices altered
- Which real signal to review next
